40th Anniversary Masterclass

Callum achieves Golden Glove

A BIG congratulations to Callum Hill who won his Golden Glove award recently. 

 Callum can be seen here shaking hands with Sensei Riley, who added:

Middleton Arena Open Day

We have been invited to participate in the Middleton Arena open day again and we are delighted to announce the date and time slot.  

Everybody is welcome to come and join us and try out Jiu Jitsu on the mat.

Congratulations to Leon Guest who was awarded his headband for winning the Flying Kick Competition at Katana Jiu Jitsu Royton.

Liam Grabs Golden Glove Award

 Liam King had a very impressive Golden Glove awarded to him for outstanding punches in a recent competition.  Sensei Riley said "Liam has been very consistent with great punches. Well done Liam"

Well done to Ulani Greene who won the coveted Golden Glove award. Sensei Riley said "Ulani continues to show excellent technique".

Mason Kicks on

Well done to Mason Nuttall who performed brilliantly in a recent Flying Kick Competition.  Mason shown his "Flying" Colours as he won the competition 5 times to receive this medal.

Bradford Grading Day

A big well done to everyone at Katana Jiu-Jitsu Bradford who performed brilliantly at their recent Grading day.  Sensei Riley has been teaching at Bradford for many years and has added "A great display with good technique shown by all our students, well done"

40 Year Anniversary

This year, Sensei William Riley celebrates a landmark 40 YEARS in Martial Arts.

Mark attains Shodan

Hannah Taylor grabs gold

A big congratulations to Hannah Taylor who won both the punching AND flying kick competitions at Katana Jiu Jitsu Castleton on 2nd September 2012. Well done Hannah! Awesome achievement.

Grading Day September 2012

A big congratulations to all our students who attended grading and passed to attain their new belts.  Everyone performed admirably and we look forward to the next stage in our syllabus.

 

Ulani grabs gold!

Well done to Ulani who achieves Gold and joins the few elite who have won the Olympic gold medal. Ulani won the flying kick and golden glove on the same night.

Josh wins Olympic gold medal

A huge congratulations to Josh who wins the Olympic gold medal. This is a new award reserved for the Elite!!

This is achieved by Winning the flying kick and golden glove competition on the same night!

Sam makes Prefect

A HUGE congratulations to Sam Blair who was awarded his Prefect medal.

Sam has know won the Flying Kick competition 5 times to become prefect.

Flying Kick Winner!

A BIG congratulations to Levi Bannister who won the Flying Kick
Competition recently at Castleton.

Levi won his headband by defeating over 20 other students to get to the final of the competiton.

Levi went on to defeat a Prefect to win his award.

A BIG well done to Levi who displayed excellent kicks to win the competition.

Happy New Year

Here are a few things we have planned for Katana Jiu-Jitsu Club in 2012.
We are putting the finishing touches to our Calendar for 2012 and hopefully they will be on sale very shortly.

Our first Grading of the year is quickly approaching at the end of January and we have our Junior and Senior Black Belts also grading in March and October.

We are organising the Christmas party for 2012.  This year, we will be holding a themed "James Bond" party.  You can dress as any James Bond character (Dr No, Oddjob, Moneypenny etc).  Last years party was amazing and I am expecting this years to be just as spectacular.

I would also like to thank all our students and parents for supporting our club and all the Sensei and staff behind the scenes.
